On Wednesday 11th July 2018, we hosted an exclusive event for our clients – ‘The Impact of CDS & Brexit’. The event, which was the first of its kind, was designed to help our clients understand the various changes we are making to our system due to the replacement of CHIEF with the Customs Declaration Service, or CDS, which goes live in August 2018.
We welcomed key members from the HMRC CDS Transformation Team and ITDLO Team who were in attendance for the entire day, engaging with our customers on a 1-to-1 basis and on hand to answer their operational and technical questions around the migration process.
Throughout the day we covered topics such as the CHIEF to CDS migration and Brexit, as well as engaging Q&A sessions with HMRC CDS team representatives. Furthermore, advice and insight into how this will impact the day-to-day operations of our client’s businesses were also shared.
Paul Carroll, Managing Director, emphasised ‘We are looking to reassure our clients and offer certainty in what is a very difficult and challenging time of transformation, we will look to leverage our position on the pilot scheme to be first to market and deliver a fully operational solution in the UK’.
Within Langdon Systems we have a primary focus on supporting this migration:
- 3 years of CDS experience in the Netherlands
- First CDS application in the UK
- Asked by HMRC to be on Pilot scheme
- To be the first dedicated solution to go live in 2018
- A dedicated cloud solution in the UK
Feedback from the event was excellent with 91% of clients saying they would attend another of our events in the future. We’d like to say thanks to everyone who attended, and we look forward to welcoming you to another Langdon Systems event soon.
