In the event the UK leaves the EU without a deal, HMRC has introduced Transitional Simplified Procedures (TSP). The initiative is aimed at reducing the potentially long delays in clearing goods at the UK's customs checkpoints post-Brexit.
Under TSP, businesses that import goods from the EU into the UK can benefit by deferring both the submission of their customs declarations and the payment of duty until a later date.
Applications to register for TSP must be made through HMRC's website.
