Data Upload
Systems with high data volume where it is not feasible to enter data manually will benefit from the upload feature. The data files generated by your commercial system are uploaded to the server over the Internet. This is secured using industry standard 128-bit SSL encryption. The user then initiates the processing of the data using the Download module, which is tailored on a per customer basis.
File Retrieval
There might be times where files need to be retrieved to the client PC. For example, to incorporate reports generated by DMS R3 into a presentation. The system offers file retrieval via e-mail. The user simply highlights the file and clicks the send e-mail button within DMS R3. The types of file currently retrievable are reports, transmissions, uploads and downloads.
Print-Over-Internet
With DMS R3 Web, printing is made easy by using a technique called 'print-over-internet'. Printing works as usual i.e. as if the printer is attached to the server.
The user prints a document to the printer "Universal Printer". This creates a print job on the server, which is sent to the client PC over the Internet. When the print job arrives, it is received by the client side printer driver, which in turn sends the print job to the designated printer. The client side printer driver requires a small and straightforward installation. No user interaction is required during the install process.
